A man has been jailed for repeatedly attacking a woman who was left scared to leave her own home.
Jonathan Farrelly's, 36, ex-partner sustained "substantial bruising" across her body in the incident last October, police said.
Farrelly, of Weston-super-Mare, Somerset, was convicted of two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and one count of breaching a restraining order when he appeared at Taunton Crown Court on 17 April.
He was sentenced to 21 months in jail.
